By August 15, 2013Share Hope

David McGarry from Cramlington, Northumberland is doing a year long XL Challenge to raise money for Dravet Syndrome.

MarathonDavid has planned to do 40 challenges in 2013 to mark the year of his 40th birthday and the challenges range from bush tucker trials to running marathons. David is donating all of the money raised to Dravet Syndrome to help support families living with the condition.

David said: “I was looking to find new ways of pushing myself and my fitness levels and attempting different things I had never done before. I had thought that taking part in my first marathon would be enough, but after chatting with friends and family, it grew into a monster.”

Dravet Syndrome is close to David’s heart as a friend of his has a daughter diagnosed with the syndrome. Through his challenge he would like to raise awareness for the syndrome and raise money to help with medical research.
